Anhydrous Ammonia Bulk Supplier
Anhydrous Ammonia in Bulk
Anhydrous ammonia is the most efficient industrial refrigerant available and a base chemical for a large part of the nitrogen industry. It carries more latent heat per kilogram than any synthetic refrigerant and has zero ozone depletion potential, which is why large cold stores and food plants still build around it. It is acutely hazardous and is supplied only to buyers with the necessary licences and engineered systems.
Specification
Purity, water content and oil content are stated on the batch Certificate of Analysis. Containers are supplied returnable.
- CAS No. 7664-41-7
- HSN Code 2814
- Purity 99.8 percent minimum
- Appearance: colourless liquefied gas under pressure, pungent odour
- Packing: cylinders and bulk road tankers, returnable
Applications
Refrigeration grade carries tighter water and oil limits than general industrial grade, so state your application when enquiring.
- Industrial refrigeration in cold stores and food processing
- Reducing agent in SCR and SNCR NOx control
- Feedstock for nitric acid, urea and nitrogen chemicals
- Nitriding and heat treatment atmospheres in metallurgy
- pH control and neutralisation in industrial processes
Safety, Handling and Compliance
Ammonia is acutely toxic by inhalation, causes severe cold burns as a liquid, and is flammable within a defined range. It is a scheduled hazardous substance.

FAQs
Questions buyers commonly ask about anhydrous ammonia.
- Do I need a licence? Yes, statutory approvals and PESO licensing are required before supply.
- Why is ammonia still used as a refrigerant? Highest latent heat per kg, low cost and zero ozone depletion potential.
- Why avoid copper in the system? Ammonia attacks copper and its alloys and will cause leaks.
- Are containers returnable? Yes, on a deposit basis.
- What documents are provided? GST invoice, batch CoA, SDS and TREM card.
