Phosphorus Oxychloride in Bulk

Phosphorus oxychloride is the reagent of choice for converting hydroxyl groups to chlorides and for forming the Vilsmeier reagent, which puts it at the heart of a great deal of pharmaceutical and dye synthesis. Semiconductor grade is used as a phosphorus dopant source. It is acutely hazardous, reacts violently with water, and is supplied only to licensed buyers.

Assay, PCl3 content and iron are stated on the batch Certificate of Analysis. Semiconductor grade carries far tighter metal limits than industrial grade.
