EDTA Bulk Supplier
EDTA in Bulk
EDTA is the chelating agent that made hard water manageable in industrial processes. It locks up calcium, magnesium, iron and heavy metal ions so they cannot precipitate, catalyse oxidation or interfere with a reaction. A few hundred parts per million often solves a problem that no amount of process adjustment will. BulkFineChem supplies EDTA acid and its sodium salts to detergent makers, textile mills, agrochemical formulators and distributors across India.
Specification
Assay and chelation value are stated on the batch Certificate of Analysis. Salt selection depends on the pH at which you need it to work.
- CAS No. 60-00-4 (free acid); salts have their own CAS numbers
- HSN Code 29212100
- Grades: EDTA acid, disodium, trisodium and tetrasodium salt
- Appearance: white crystalline powder
- Packing: 25 kg HDPE bags or fibre drums
Applications
Free acid has poor water solubility; the sodium salts dissolve readily, which is why formulators normally specify disodium or tetrasodium.
- Builder and sequestrant in detergent formulations
- Metal ion control in textile dyeing and bleaching
- Chelated micronutrient carrier in agriculture
- Stabiliser in cosmetics, personal care and food
- Scale control and boiler water treatment
Handling and Storage
EDTA is low in acute toxicity but the dust is irritating, and its persistence in the environment is a recognised concern.
- Store sealed in a dry area away from strong oxidisers
- Use dust protection and eye protection when handling
- Check local effluent limits, as EDTA is poorly biodegradable
- Confirm salt form required before ordering
- SDS issued on request

FAQs
Questions buyers commonly ask about EDTA.
- Which salt should I use? Disodium works around neutral pH; tetrasodium suits alkaline systems.
- Why will the acid form not dissolve? EDTA free acid is poorly soluble in water; use a sodium salt instead.
- Is a food grade available? Yes, confirm your specification when enquiring.
- Can I get a sample? Yes, trial quantities can be arranged.
- What documents are provided? GST invoice, batch CoA, and TDS or SDS on request.
