Soda Ash in Bulk

Soda ash is the mild alkali that industry reaches for when caustic soda would be too aggressive. It raises pH, softens water and fluxes silica, and it does all three without the burn hazard of sodium hydroxide. Roughly half of world production still goes into glass. Applications

Dense grade is specified for glass because it mixes evenly with sand without segregating; light grade dissolves faster.

Handling and Storage

Soda ash is only mildly alkaline but the dust is irritating, and it cakes readily if it takes up moisture.

• Store sealed in a dry covered area off the ground
• Use dust protection and eye protection when handling
• Keep away from strong acids, which react vigorously
• Rotate stock; caked material is difficult to feed
• SDS issued on request
