Sulphuric Acid in Bulk

Sulphuric acid is produced in greater volume than any other chemical, and for good reason: it is the cheapest source of strong acidity per tonne and works as a dehydrating agent besides. It drives fertiliser manufacture, metal pickling, effluent neutralisation and battery production. BulkFineChem supplies commercial and battery grades to fertiliser units, steel processors, battery makers and distributors across India.

Concentration, iron and chloride content are stated on the batch Certificate of Analysis. Battery grade carries much tighter metal limits than commercial grade.

Applications

Specify grade when enquiring, since battery and pharmaceutical uses will not tolerate the iron content of commercial acid.

Safety, Handling and Compliance

Concentrated sulphuric acid chars organic material on contact and reacts violently with water, generating enough heat to boil and spatter.

• Always add acid to water slowly with stirring, never the reverse
• Use goggles, face shield, apron and acid-resistant gauntlets
• Store in HDPE, FRP or lined tanks with proper bunding
• Keep away from water, alkalis, chlorates and organic matter
• SDS issued on request
